The Vertical Turbine Pumps (VTP pumps) can also be fitted with strainers [316] to prevent foreign particles from entering the pump. The type of strainers and the mesh size depends on the application. Examples are shown below. Strainers are fastened [422] directly to the suction bell [55] or attached using clips [421]. Cone shaped strainers are provided with internal or external threads to attach it to the main assembly.
